Hi, I’m Alyssa.

I’m a freelance book scout and social media strategist with a focus on BookTok.

About Me

I’m a literary scout and savvy marketing strategist with twelve years of experience in publishing and media, including working at Amazon, writing a column at Barnes and Noble, and managing social media accounts for brands with hundreds of thousands of followers.

My goal is to demystify BookTok and social media for authors, publishers, and creators and help navigate the ever-shifting publishing landscape.

I work with clients on audience-based trend forecasting, brand development, influencer outreach, and social media strategy.

I also write Romancing the Phone, a newsletter about BookTok and romance trends that was named one of the 8 best newsletters demystifying the publishing industry by Electric Literature.

When I’m not reading, working, or being extremely online, my hobbies include baking and hiking.

I love historical romances, cozy slow burns, and witty banter. My constantly evolving list of favorite authors includes Cat Sebastian, Emily Henry, Lucy Parker, and Lisa Kleypas.

Alyssa works with agents, editors, publishers, and authors to pinpoint market trends in popular fiction, discover exciting new voices, and create research-driven social media strategy.
